The season was over for Vosselaar and Brasschaat, … but now they are playing the final round: “In fact, everyone wants to continue playing in the interprovincial”

How does that happen? There is one person to blame for this: KV Mechelen. KV’s B team won the title in the interprovincial series and would make its first national appearance. Only: because the A-team of KV Mechelen will voluntarily drop from the Super League to the first national next season, the B-team was not allowed to promote.

So number two, Bilzen United, was promoted to first national. For example, Vosselaar and VVC Brasschaat can prepare for first the final round among period winners and then, possibly, an ascending final round with a Walloon team and the team that finished thirteenth in the first national. Although not all of them are keen on that.

Recharge

“The club’s ambition was to be at the top of the Interprovincial series again next season,” says Vosselaar coach Jonas Marien. “But this week we received a letter that we are expected at the draw for the final round. It is now important to recharge the team for the final round, because we actually ended our season on Saturday. We’ll see how the final round goes.”

The same story at VVC Brasschaat. “Suddenly we, as number four, received a message that we were expected at the draw next week. There were a few ladies who were going to drop out, but now they can still prepare for some competitions. It’s nice that we still get this opportunity,” said board member Rian Adriaensen.
