The season of the chamber series “Personally” opens with the premieres of the brightest Lithuanian composers – Culture, art

Walter Ash

On Sunday, January 16, at the opening of the season of the chamber series “Personally”, the exciting and technically virtuoso “Čurļoņa Quartet” made its debut at the Liepāja Concert Hall “Lielais dzintars”. Most of the works performed in the concert made their debut in Latvia for the first time.

In preparing the Liepaja musical program, the quartet has chosen composers who are united by “youthfulness”. As Gediminas Dačinskis, a violinist of the Čurlionis Quartet, revealed before the concert (Gediminas Dačinskas): “The music of Bartulis, Laten, Makachin and Bružaite is youthful because they are open to any kind of music. Youthfulness is pulsating and living in their compositions, and both the composers themselves and the music are open to various new things, including experiments. This music is very understandable because they use themes from pop and folk music. They are very open and such music suits us and is in line with the music of Edward Grieg, whose compositions express emotions and attract people who would not normally attend classical music concerts ”.

The Lithuanian Chamber Music Evening Quartet was opened by composer Zita Bružaite (Zita Bružaitė) flowing and intimate composition Dance in Blue, which was continued by the wildly rhythmic and playful play of Vidamant Bartulis (Vidmantas Bartulis) First String Quartet Oh, honey or “Oh, dear”, which surprised the audience with a musical kiss at the end. Faust Laten, a composer inspired by theater (Faustas Latėnas) The first string quartet …in extremity… sound embodied a sincere dialogue between string instruments and prepared visitors for a cheerful and graceful melodic culmination with the experimental and contemporary composer Teisuta Makachin (Teisutis Makačinas) Scherzo concertantei.

In the evening, Edward Grieg (Edvard Grieg) The string quartet invited me to see Norway’s changing and visually beautiful natural landscapes, which the composer has musically portrayed in a four-part composition, including both a majestic scope and a lyric full of light love. After the bravo shouts and heartfelt applause of the listeners, the quartet returned to the stage with the addition of a concert – Astora Piacola’s String Quartet Chador.

Quartet magazine composed by experienced musicians – violin Jons Tankevičs (Jonas Tankevičius), Violin 2 Darjus Dikšaitis (Darius Diksaitis), violinist Gediminas Dačinsks (Gediminas Dačinskas) and cellist Elena Daunite (Elena Daunytė. The repertoire of the ensemble pays special attention to the popularization of Lithuanian music. As a result of this mission, the musicians include works by Lithuanian composers for string quartet in each concert program, as well as perform new works created especially for this association. Since its founding in 1968, the composition of the quartet has changed, but the creative activity of the participants has constantly confirmed the fame of a technically virtuoso ensemble of musicians. The chamber ensemble attracted a lot of attention from the international audience and the media in 2004, when it won second place in the International Chamber Music Competition in Schweinfurt, Germany. The success has been followed by concerts not only in Europe, but also in Mexico, China, the USA, the United Arab Emirates and elsewhere in the world. The Churlon Quartet has played in such European academic music meccas as Leipzig Gewandhaus, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Bonnas Beethovenhaus, Paris Orsay Museum and elsewhere, and has participated in various music festivals in Europe and Asia.

The Chamber Hall series of events “Personally” has become a popular meeting place for artists and audiences, an opportunity to enjoy music events in a more direct and personal way. In the continuation of the spring season of the chamber series “Personally” on Sunday, February 6 at 15.00, listeners will have the opportunity to meet guests from Armenia – talented instrumentalist Arsen Petrosyan (Arsen Petrosyan), which is one of the most important promoters of the Armenian duduka of its generation in the world.

Concerts are organized by SIA “Lielais Dzintars” with the support of Liepāja Municipality and the State Cultural Capital Fund. Tickets can be purchased at the information center of the concert hall “Lielais dzintars”, at the box office of Biļešu paradīze and on the website www.bilesuparadize.lv.
