A man in his 40s was reported missing in Levanger on Monday night. According to operations manager in Trøndelag police district, Rune Brandmo, the man was last seen at 10 o’clock Monday morning.
– We have started a search with the fire service, police with a dog and search with what we have at our disposal. We will be very grateful if anyone has observations that can help us, Brandmo says at 6.30 pm on Monday night.
According to the police, the man has black short hair, glasses and is 175 cm tall.
He should be dressed in a bright blue Bergen jacket with orange writing and stitching, and probably a dark blue hat with a Sport 1 logo.

Searching with drones and dog
At 9.30 pm, Brandmo says that there are several volunteers participating in the search operation. Among other things, volunteers with dogs from Norwegian Rescue Dogs, the Red Cross and Norwegian People’s Aid. In addition, the police themselves are out with dog equipment and drones. The fire service also contributes to the search.
– It is too poor visibility to get help from a helicopter, but we have more volunteers and hope it can help us, Brandmo says.
Task leader, Tonje Våden, says Innherred that they have tracked down the cell phone of the missing man and are looking in that area.
Looking through the night
Operations Manager Håvard Høyem tells Adresseavisen at 11 pm on Monday night that the search operation will take place through the night.
