A huge amount of sand from the beach in Burgas’ Kraimorie district is literally missing, and the reason – climatic problems. This was announced by the concessionaire of the strip Nikolay Dimitrov, who over the years has proven to be one of the most responsible when it comes to the maintenance of beaches, writes “Flagman”.
Over 300 meters long and about 20 meters wide – the strip lacks no less than 3,000 cubic meters of sand, which was dragged from the sea due to bad weather conditions and is expected to be carried south.
“I do not complain or seek help. I will reimburse the damage as agreed. But I want to share that in such a force majeure situation it happens that whatever we, the concessionaires or the tenants do, we make a mistake. To get the sand back, I will definitely have to bring heavy equipment to the beach – something that environmentalists will immediately jump against. If I don’t, I am subject to fines under my contract with the state, “explained Nikolay Dimitrov, who described the situation as” paragraph 22 “.
He stressed that the procedures for the restoration of the lost 300 meters of sand from the northern part of the beach in Kraimorie will cost no less than BGN 10-15 thousand. – the amount he is willing to give to ensure the good appearance of the beach. At the same time, however, Dimitrov pointed out that it is time for the state to determine exactly how to proceed in such situations, which, according to him, will become more frequent due to climate change.
“A month ago at the meeting with the Minister of Tourism Stella Baltova I was the only one who put this problem on the agenda. It is a world practice to deposit sand during the autumn-winter period in order to avoid such problems. However, this is not done in Bulgaria “, he is categorical.
