The scientist warned of the mortal danger of hasty vaccination

Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vitaliy Zverev, Head of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology of the First Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, told what the rush might be when developing a coronavirus vaccine.

At the request of the Public News Service, the academician commented on the plans of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation to begin clinical trials of the coronavirus vaccine in two weeks.

As Zverev said, without thorough confirmation of the safety of the vaccine, the threat of its use can be fatal, since pathogenic organisms are introduced during vaccination to healthy people.

In such a short time, it is simply impossible to verify the reliability and effectiveness of the vaccine, and therefore mass vaccination cannot be started.

In this regard, Zverev recalled several tragic examples of the use of polio vaccines and dengue fever, when people became infected and died in the hundreds.

“You have to be very careful about this. The infection is not so terrible as to do something in a hurry and do it wrong, ”concluded the scientist.
