Serbian scientist Milan Stevanchevich put forward the theory that the emergence of a new coronavirus can be directly related to the low activity of the Sun. Details of this hypothesis are told by Rambler.

According to a specialist with whom colleagues from the USA and Brazil agree, the Sun has cycles of minimum and maximum activity. Centuries-old studies show that it is during a period of low activity of the Sun that eruptions of volcanoes occur, the circulation of ocean waters slows down, and the climate on the planet changes significantly.

The scientist notes that at the moment the Sun is at the minimum of its 24 cycle. During this period, the ultraviolet radiation of the star is reduced several times, namely, ultraviolet is a wonderful natural disinfectant. Because of this, bacteria grow and spread with greater intensity than Stevanchevich and explains the emergence of a new type of coronavirus.

For comparison, he cites data from 2009, during the period of distribution of H1N1. Then the radiation of the Sun was significantly higher – 8 units. And in 2019, it amounted to only 5 units.

Then, at the end of 2019, two spots appeared on the Sun, which may indicate that a new, 25 activity cycle has begun on the star. According to astrophysicists, the peak of activity in the new cycle of the Sun will reach by the summer of 2025.
