The PLANÈTE + channel is pleased to present its new documentary series, LA SCIENCE DES ÉMOTIONS. Every Friday, starting January 1 at 9 p.m., through four episodes, the public is invited to discover the secrets of our right hemisphere. Today, there is no longer any question of suppressing one’s emotions. Thanks to advances in science, researchers, teachers and business leaders are committed to reconciling us with them, whether positive or negative.
Six emotions govern the life of most animal species: fear, sadness, joy, surprise, anger and disgust. But humans have dozens of other emotions, such as pride, shame, contempt, anxiety, envy, jealousy or confidence. Each of our emotions, from the most primary to the most complex, has the power to take control of our body and to influence our choices and actions.
Thanks to new technologies and novel psychological approaches, the science of emotions is making considerable progress. The work of neuroscientists, biologists and psychologists has identified thousands of facial, bodily and vocal expressions that allow us to decode our emotions.
