Despite restrictions caused by the pandemic, the Scherenburg Festival attracted 11,000 guests last summer – thanks to the passion and creativity of everyone involved. “And in the future there will also be no shortage of exciting projects that will ensure a sustainable further development of the theater business,” says managing director Bianca Ditterich according to the press release of the Scherenburgfestspiele Main-Spessart gGmbH.
Co-managing director Christoph Michl adds: “Our goal is to offer a diverse, inclusive and future-proof cultural workshop for as many target groups as possible in Gemünden, in the entire Main-Spessart area and far beyond.” To all the creative ideas for the open-air theater As a lively place for social gatherings to provide an appropriate space, a new, permanent venue is currently being built behind the castle ruins.
One-time donation for five-year sponsorship
The seat sponsorship project was initiated for everyone who supports the Scherenburg Festival and wants to make a personal statement about the importance of culture: For a one-time donation of 250 euros, one of the seats on the new open-air grandstand will be given the name of the donor or the provided donor. “Donors – regardless of whether they are companies or private individuals – receive a certificate, and the commitment is also permanently recognized on the theater website and program booklet,” says the press release.
The term of the space sponsorship is five years. It is also possible to sponsor several places. The donations benefit the cultural work of the Scherenburg Festival – from the new construction of the venue to summer theater operations and future cultural development to volunteering and the promotion of young talent.
There are already more than 70 places under a sponsorship. Among others, the Sparkasse Mainfranken Würzburg, the Raiffeisenbank Main-Spessart eG, the Raiffeisen-Foundation for Main-Spessart, the EVG Energieversorgung Gemünden GmbH, the Erwin Welzenbach Spedition GmbH are involved. “We are heartily grateful for this great support,” says the festival management duo Ditterich/Michl.
Chair sponsorships can be done online in the festival ticket system can be selected and booked via the interactive seating plan of the new grandstand at scherenburgfestspiele.de/patenschaft.
