The scandal of “Positano” 20 mothers-in-law
The resigned leader Kornelia Ninova refused to implement a decision of the highest body of the BSP – the National Council. This is happening for the first time in the history of the centenary.
Cries were heard in the hall: “Stop!”, “You are exposing yourself!”, “Aren’t you ashamed!”, “Shame and disgrace!”.
She is about to be expelled from the party.
The plenum of the BSP obliged Korneniya Ninova to issue a power of attorney to Atanas Zafirov as a representative of the BSP, Epicenter.bg learned from the hall at “Positano” 20, where the meeting is taking place.
With 107 votes “for”, 12 “against” and 3 “abstentions”, the National Council of the BSP obliged Kornelia Ninova to sign today a power of attorney to the i.f. Atanas Zafirov, who was elected by decision of the National Assembly of the BSP from June 15, 2024, to represent the party before third parties.
The National Council obliged Ninova to withdraw the powers of attorney of Georgi Svilenski and Ivan Chenchev.
A little later, during her speech, Ninova stated that she would not comply with the decision of the National Council.
“I do not dispute the Statute of the BSP, that Atanas Zafirov, the current deputy chairman, should be acting. The statute has been respected,” the former chairman of the party said in his speech.
“However, the statute does not say to whom to give a power of attorney,” Ninova continued, and this blew up the hall, which erupted with shouts: “Stop!”, “You are exposing yourself!”, “Aren’t you ashamed!”, “Shame and disgrace !”.
She expressed her willingness to sign whatever was needed for the grant, but not the power of attorney.
Refusal to implement a decision of the National Assembly of the BSP by the chairman happens for the first time in the history of the party, and experts define it as an absolute precedent.
Already in the morning, Christian Vigenin, before the meeting of the party leadership, stated that Ninova’s only move was to give Zafirov a power of attorney.
Before that, the BSP National Council rejected Ninova’s proposal to convene a party congress on September 28 to confirm her resignation.
The proposal came after earlier today there were clashes between supporters of Cornelia Ninova and the party’s interim leadership.
