The head of the Jeddah Astronomical Society, Eng. Abu Zahira explained that an eclipse of semi-shadow occurs when the moon moves through the faded outer part of the earth’s shadow called (semi-shadow), and during this type of eclipse the moon’s illumination will diminish slightly, but in total the entire disk will remain illuminated by sunlight during the duration of the eclipse, and this eclipse occurs after two days From the moon’s passage at rock bottom, which is the closest point in its orbit from Earth, so its apparent size will appear 3.3% greater than the average.

He added that the stages of the eclipse will occur at the same time in all regions where the eclipse will start entering the moon to the area of the earth’s shadow at 08:45 pm (5:45 pm GMT) and no change will be observed and the moon will look as usual, and during that the moon will reach the moment of complete full moon At 10:12 p.m. (07:12 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time), and there are half-orbits around the Earth during the month, which is the last full moon during the spring and before the summer solstice.

The lunar eclipse will reach its maximum peak at 10:25 pm (7:25 pm GMT) and at that time (57%) of its disk will be located in the semi-shadow of the earth, which is a smaller percentage compared to (90%) in the semi-shadow eclipse (mid-Jumada The first) on the tenth of last January, and even at this stage, the moon’s disk will remain fully lit and no changes may be observed, followed by the moon’s exit from the earth’s shadow region at 12:04 midnight (9:04 pm GMT) and the eclipse stages will end .

It is reported that two weeks after the lunar-like eclipse of the moon, an eclipse of the sun will occur on the morning of (29 Shawwal / 21 June) in the sky of the Kingdom and the Arab region.
