The Saudi Premier League: Cristiano Ronaldo’s Strong Endorsement and Plans for the Future

Al Nassr star player Cristiano Ronaldo has said the Saudi Premier League “is better” than MLS and he has no plans to play in the United States or return to play with a European team.

Ronaldo was speaking to the media after playing the first half of Al Nassr’s 5-0 pre-season loss to LaLiga side Celta Vigo.

“The Saudi league is better than MLS,” Ronaldo said when asked about joining an American team, like Lionel Messi did with Inter Miami CF.

“I paved the way to Saudi Arabia, and now all the players come here. »

Ronaldo is heading into his first full season in the Saudi Premier League, having joined Al Nassr in January.

Karim Benzema, Marcelo Brozovic, N’Golo Kanté and Roberto Firmino are among the players who took advantage of the summer to join a Saudi team.

Ronaldo added that his days in Europe are behind him and he does not consider a possible return to Europe.

“I am 100% sure that I will not return to a European club. I am 38 years old. European soccer has lost a lot of quality. The only league that is still valid and still good is the Premier League. They are way ahead of the rest,” Ronaldo said, comments later reported by ESPN.
