The Saudi Building Code application system has assigned a number of regulatory and oversight tasks to a number of agencies, to ensure an effective and correct application of the requirements and conditions of the code for the benefit of the public interest.
The Saudi Building Code will contribute to controlling urban development in the Kingdom and creating a distinctive urban environment in all cities, and it is the result of great efforts by the national and governmental agencies participating in the National Committee for the Building Code.
Among its requirements are the details of design, implementation and construction methods, and defining standard specifications. It is the basis and reference for the application of the code.
The requirements include the procedures and controls for building permits and the preparation of engineering plans and their requirements for buildings and facilities, and they are an integral part of the requirements.
