The Santander Music Band begins the concerts of the cycle ‘Our Mayores’

The Zarzuela Gala with artists from Cantabria will be held on November 26 at the Palacio de Exposiciones from 8:00 p.m.

The Santander Municipal Music Band begins today a calendar of seven concerts for this month of November within the cycle ‘Our Mayors’.

It will be at 11:00 am at the Obra San Martín, with the following repertoire: Aragonaise, Habanera (opera Carmen), by G.Bizet; The ritual dance of fire (El Amor Brujo) by M. Falla; 1st. Arabesque, by C. Debussy; Capriche for Clarinets, by C. Grundman; The easy winners, by S. Joplin; Libertango, by A. Piazzolla; and Gershwin favorites by Roland Kernen.

The next appointment will be tomorrow at the Palacio de la Magdalena, also at 11.00, in this case within the initiative ‘The Musical Routes in the Palace’. In three different spaces, repertoires of precussion, brasswind and brasswind and percussion will be offered in two passes (11:00 am and 11:45 am).

Another of the dates indicated is November 12 at Escenario Santander, with the tribute to Basilio Gomarín. At 12.00 hours an act will be held that will include the discovery of a plaque to the honoree, which will also name the file of the Municipal Band.

In the afternoon, starting at 8:00 p.m. at the Exhibition Palace, there will be a concert with works by Basilio Gomarín: Pozo Alcon, Santillana del Mar (Fantasia), Ceuta (Dance), Spanish Wine (Bolero), Minisuite, Asturian Rhapsody, Los Valles Pasiegos (Zarzuela), Felix Rodriguez, El Invierno, and Los Cuatro Cantones.

The three remaining appointments will be on November 20, with an act by the Patrons de Yate in Paseo Pereda, a concert at the Ateneo within the cycle ‘European musical isms throughout the history of the Ateneo’, and finally, the Zarzuela Gala with artists from Cantabria, on November 26 at the Palacio de Exposiciones from 8:00 p.m.
