The Governing Council of the Junta de Andalucía has approved the transfer of the land owned by the Provincial Council of Jaén and the City Council of the capital for the construction of the Sanitary City.
As they have detailed from the Junta de Andalucía, the transfer is made through a decree in which it accepts “the affectation by external lawsuit mutation of the lands of the Town Hall and the transmission of the property by the Provincial Council for a period of 75 years “.
The Consistory has yielded a plot, while the Provincial Entity has done the same with another four located in the so-called Las Lagunillas area of the capital.
The new spaces that the Sanitary City will offer, which could be in operation in a period of seven years, will be more spacious, comfortable and will offer an improvement in the quality of care. All its rooms will be individual and the services will include the Day Hospital, outpatient surgery, telemedicine and multidisciplinary consultations, among others.
The Jaén hospital has a planned investment of 448 million euros and the works are expected to begin in 2024, with an execution period of four years. The population it will serve exceeds 241,500 users in basic specialties, reaching about 587,000 patients as a center of provincial reference specialties.
