The NBA lottery delivered its verdict last night and it was the Spurs who got the first draft pick. Victor Wembanyama was very happy with his potential future franchise and imagines his future in San Antonio.
David Robinson, Tim Duncan and now Victor Wembanyama. The San Antonio Spurs got the first draft pick in the lottery tonight and could select a dominating third inside out of their last three first picks.
Reunited with loved ones to watch the lottery live on ESPN, Wemby jubilant at the announcement of the first choice. Almost sure to be drafted in one, the French phenomenon spoke about his future at Spurs:
“I knew it, it’s a message from the universe. Half if not all of France wanted me in San Antonio compared to Tony Parker and Boris Diaw. It’s one of the most important moments of my life.”
Victor hadn’t shown a preference for any franchise so far but after the lottery he already seems to be imagining his future in San Antonio. The Frenchman is sure of his strength and wants to be competitive as soon as he arrives in the NBA:
“I am a team player, I will do everything to win as many matches as possible. I want to win a title as soon as possible so be ready”
The draft will take place on June 22 and we will officially know if Wemby will start his NBA career at Spurs.
