jpnn.comSAMSUNG it is rumored that it will not feature an under-screen camera feature on the Galaxy S21. In fact, this feature is predicted to be one of the flagship ones on the Galaxy S21.

Information from the media in South Korea states that the under-screen camera technology that is planned to be applied to the Galaxy S21 is not ready for mass production.

Instead, Samsung intends to embed this technology on another flagship smartphone, possibly the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Reporting from SamMobile, Wednesday (7/10), Samsung has actually created an engineering team called “Hole In Active Area” (HIAA) to drill on the screen.

However, the technology is not up to Samsung’s standards even though it has been tested extensively.

The South Korean manufacturer is reportedly considering two variations of the laser drilling method: single punch holes and one using multiple micro-incisions.

Samsung finally tried to optimize the second option, but eventually gave up on launching the Galaxy S21 line, which is scheduled to launch in February 2020.

Samsung is reportedly also exploring under-screen cameras without having to drill into the OLED display.
