Former Italian striker Alessandro Del Piero believes that Argentina’s Lionel Messi and Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo have a chance of winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He stated that both countries will need everything to continue on their way through the tournament and should start well.
Argentina beat Italy in La Finalissima 3-0 on Wednesday June 1 at Wembley to lift another trophy after winning the Copa América last year. They completely dominated the Italians, making 17 attempts on goal, 10 of them on target.
After the game, Del Piero spoke about ESPN FC’s YouTube Channel about the chances of La Albiceleste in the next World Cup. He highlighted Italy’s victory at EURO 2020 and stressed that anything can happen and that both Messi and Ronaldo have a chance of winning it.
DePiero said:
“Euro 2020 showed that when a team comes together it can do incredible things. And of course there is kind of an emotional way of watching the last World Cup for Messi. The same can happen with Ronaldo. They basically have two very similar ones.” equipment”.

“It is good that we are going to the last World Cup for these amazing players with a good team that can really win the tournament because it is a month. Everything has to be perfect for a month. Del Piero stated that La Albiceleste might not be the best team in the tournament right now. However, he feels that they need to prove that they are the strongest team to win the tournament.
He said:
“Are they the best team actually now? No, sure not. There are much better teams than them, structured together and achieved tactically and everything and experience, yes.
He added:
“But you never know what can happen in that month, and not most of the time, the best team wins the tournament. It is the strongest team that will win the tournament. So you need to show that you are the strongest.” in that period.”
A possible last World Cup for Lionel Messi of Argentina and Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal
The upcoming World Cup could be the last time the world sees the duo play in their national colors in the biggest tournament of all. Arguably the two greatest players to ever grace the game will therefore be looking to crown their domestic careers with the trophy.
Argentina overcame World Cup qualification, while Portugal had to go through qualifying in March to reach the tournament in Qatar.
