The Salzburg Cup deputy craves a rematch in the derby

With five wins in all competitions and a narrow 2:3 defeat in the cup final, Sparkasse Salzburg successfully closed the first half of the season after a false start with four defeats in a row. The fourth-placed player now wants to take advantage of the recovery in Monday’s derby against Raiffeisen Kuchl. But watch out: the Tennengauer celebrated its only derby victory in the autumn. SPG Linz won the first duel of the season at Raiffeisen Kennelbach 4:2. Youssef Abdelaziz clearly won the most important game against Simon Pfeffer 3-0. Also this time Linz has to keep the fourth place (10:3 wins) and the first 12 runners-up of Generali Austria. A complete success would be worth its weight in gold for Linz en route to the semi-finals. But the Vorarlbergers also have the chance of a play-off ticket in this “four-point game”.

The Austrian talents managed to clinch one gold and four bronze medals at the inaugural WTT Youth Contender 2022 in Linz. From Wednesday to Saturday, 20 national aces will play again for the podium. The young U11s and U13s have the best chances, but Julian Rzihauschek (Lower Austria), third placed at the U15 European Championships, has big plans and would like to be on the podium in the U17 singles and U15 mixed doubles. Together with Julia Dür from Salzburg, he is in third place.
