The Salta delegation left for Mar del Plata to compete in the Evita National Games

The Salta delegation is traveling to the city of Mar del Plata to participate in the Evita 2024 National Games, which will take place from November 4 to 9. The delegation left in six buses towards the spa city accompanied by coordinators of the Sports Secretary. They also have the assistance of doctors and nurses.

The farewell of the Salta team took place at the Delmi microstadium with the presence of the Secretary of Sports, Sergio Chiban and the undersecretary of the organization, Claudia Vasquez. “We are very happy that Salta is once again present in Mar del Plata to participate in the Evita Games,” said Chibán.

“I congratulate all the athletes for reaching this stage and I wish them success in their competitions. From the Sports Secretariat we will accompany and take care of them during the trip and stay, together with a great team that has vast experience,” he added. .

For her part, the Undersecretary of Sports, Claudia Vásquez, highlighted that “the Salta delegation traveled two days in advance to be able to arrive in Mar del Plata in time, rest for the competition and also to be able to enjoy the sea and all the attractions.” of the city. The Evita Games are not only sports, they also have a social objective for our children and young people,” he expressed.

After the event, the members of the Salta delegation left for Mar del Plata. Arrival is scheduled for this Sunday at noon. Meanwhile, the return to Salta will be on Saturday, November 9, arriving in Salta on Sunday, November 10 in the afternoon.

The competition

The Evita 2024 National Games will take place in Mar del Plata from November 4 to 9 and will feature the participation of more than 8,000 young people from all over the country between the ages of 11 and 17. There will be competition in 36 sports disciplines.

In total, more than 10,000 people from Salta participated in the Evita Games in their municipal, zonal and provincial stages, which competed between July and October. After passing the different qualifying stages, the delegation was made up of 360 people including athletes, coaches and coordinators.

The team has athletes from all over the province, among them, 80 kids from the interior belonging to the towns of El Carril, Cerrillos, San Lorenzo, Metán, Urundel, Tartagal, Rosario de la Frontera, Joaquín V. González, Rosario de Lerma, Las Lajitas, General Güemes, Coronel Moldes, Orán, Campo Santo, Colonia Santa Rosa, Hipólito Yrigoyen, General Mosconi and Apolinario Saravia.

For its part, the Adapted Sports delegation has a total of 43 members, including technicians and athletes, who belong to the capital, Luracatao, Joaquín V. González, Orán, General Mosconi, La Merced and Metán municipalities.

The disciplines

The 2024 edition of the Evita National Games has 29 youth sports disciplines and 7 adapted sports.

In conventional sports, Salta will compete in: Athletics sub 15, Badminton sub 16, Basketball 3 vs 3 sub 16, Boxing sub 16, Cycling sub 16, Futsal sub 16, Artistic Gymnastics sub 13 female and sub 16 male, Rhythmic Gymnastics female sub 14 , Beach handball under 16, Hockey 7 under 16, Judo under 14, Karate under 16, Olympic lifting under 16, Wrestling under 15, Fencing under 14, Swimming under 14, Rugby under 16, Taekwondo under 14, Tennis under 16, Table Tennis under 14, Shooting under 16, Triathlon under 16, Indoor Volleyball under 15, Beach Volleyball under 16.

Meanwhile, the provincial delegation will participate in the Adapted Sports competition in: Under 18 Athletics, Under 16 Swimming, Under 18 Boccia, Under 18 Goalball, Under 18 Sitting Volleyball and Under 18 Table Tennis.

Sports venues

The organization of the Evita National Games defined the places where there will be competition in the city of Mar del Plata. There are emblematic venues such as the Islas Malvinas Sports Center or the Municipal Sports and Recreation Entity (EMDER) complex.

The EMDER track will host both conventional and adapted athletics and triathlon and swimming competitions will also take place there in the municipal pool.

Adapted sports also have their venues defined: wheelchair basketball will take place on the court at the Islas Malvinas Sports Center and the boccia representatives will have an appointment at the Las Heras Sports Center. Meanwhile, the Malvinas Former Combatant Soldiers Center (CESC) will host the goalball competition, while sitting volleyball will be played at the Libertad Sports Center.

Conventional volleyball will have the headquarters of CEDETALVO and Santa Cecilia. The municipal hockey field will be the epicenter of the 7-a-side hockey matches, while the 7-a-side rugby will be played in the Marist Village. Tennis, for its part, will have two venues: the Edison Lawn Tenis and the Banco Provincia Club.

Volleyball and beach handball will compete on Popular Beach and very close to that place is the Skatepark where urban sports will compete in BMX Freestyle, 3×3 basketball, skateboarding and sports shooting, defining their fate in the Evita 2024. Meanwhile , archery will be contested in the Federal Shooting.

The Punta Mogotes complex will have cycling and canoeing competitions, the Physical Education Center No. 1 will host table tennis, judo, wrestling and fencing. Boxing, once again, will be held at the Nautilus Ciromar Gymnasium, taekwondo at the centenary sports center and karate at the Colinas Sports Center.

Futsal will have four venues: the APAND complex, Club Banco Provincia, AGP and Club Mar del Plata. For its part, gymnastics will be divided according to each branch: artistic gymnastics will have its routines at the Quilmes Club in Mar del Plata and rhythmic gymnastics at Colegio Gutenberg.
