The sale of housing registers its best November in 15 years, with 55,132 operations, 10.8% more

Operations, which slowed down their growth by a few tenths, were driven exclusively by second-hand homes

MADRID, 20 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The purchase and sale of homes rose 10.8% last November in relation to the same month of 2021, reaching 55,132 operations, its highest figure in a month of November since 2007, when more than 56,100 purchases were exceeded, as reported by this Friday the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

With the interannual advance in November, the sale of homes chains 21 consecutive months of positive rates. However, the growth of operations has slowed down by six tenths compared to the year-on-year rise in October, when home sales increased by 11.4%.

The year-on-year rise in home sales in November was the result of a 14.3% increase in operations on used homes, up to 45,199 sales, since operations on new apartments decreased by 3% year-on-year, to a total of 9,933 transactions.

92.2% of the homes transferred by sale in the penultimate month of last year were free homes and 7.8% were protected.

The sale of private homes rose 11.7% year-on-year in November, to 50,847 operations, while that of protected ones hardly advanced 0.5%, totaling 4,285 operations.

In monthly terms (November 2022 compared to October of the same year), home sales grew by 6.8%, less than it did in 2021, when operations rose by 7.4% in November.

In the first eleven months of last year, the sale of homes increased by 17%, with increases of 20.1% in the case of second-hand homes and 4.6% in new homes.
