Thalassery: Two CPM workers were stabbed to death following a fight over the drug mafia. One is in the hospital. Thalassery Nettur Illikkun Trivarna House K. Khalid (52) and his sister-in-law and CPM branch member Nettur Poovanazhi Shamir (40) died at Trivarna House. His friend Netur Sarasil Shanib (29) was admitted to Thalassery Cooperative Hospital.
The attack took place near the cooperative hospital around 4pm on Wednesday. Khalid was stabbed to death after being called out of the hospital. Police said a four-member group was behind the attack.
Shamir’s son Shabeel (20), who questioned drug sales, was beaten by Jackson near Chirakkau on Wednesday afternoon. Knowing that he was being treated in the cooperative hospital, the group called Khalid and others on the road under the guise of reconciliation.
During the conversation, he cut Khalid’s neck with a knife. Shameer, who tried to stop him, was stabbed on the outside and other parts of his body. Shamir died while being taken to hospital.
