The Salamanca Hospital does not see a relationship between the AstraZeneca vaccine and the thrombus in the arm of the 26-year-old girl

Salamanca Hospital sources have confirmed to SALAMANCA24HORAS that the thrombus in the arm for which a 26-year-old pharmacist was treated in the capital last Friday is not related to the AstraZeneca vaccine she had received.

The woman arrived at the Salamanca hospital complex with a swollen limb and pain. At the Hospital, she was diagnosed with a thrombus and was discharged, with treatment to eliminate it.

The health professionals, as they have commented from the Hospital, have not found a relationship between the thrombus and the possible adverse effects of the AstraZeneca vaccine, so it has not been necessary to report the incidence to the pharmacovigilance system.

The young woman received this vaccine last February and the same hospital sources have confirmed that they did not correspond to the ABV5300 lot, which is under study and that the Junta de Castilla y Léón has withdrawn preventively until it is guaranteed that it is safe for the population.
