With a field goal less than two minutes from time, the New Orleans Saints beat the Seattle Seahawks 13-10 in the clash that closed the seventh week of the American Football League (NFL) on Monday.
This result keeps Seattle, which has injured its star Russell Wilson, in the last position of the West division of the National League with a balance of two wins and five losses.
The Saints, for their part, are in second place in the South division of the National League (4-2), only behind the reigning champions, Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
On Monday, New Orleans took the win by taking advantage of numerous errors by the Seahawks, who lined up backup quarterback Geno Smith in place of Wilson.
Smith found DK Metcalf for an 84-yard touchdown in the first quarter but down the stretch he couldn’t resist the pressure from the Saints and was mollified a total of five times.
Alvin Kamara carried the offensive weight for the Saints, with 10 receptions for 128 yards and a touchdown in the second quarter.
New Orleans decided the clash with a 33-yard field goal from Brian Johnson with one minute and 56 seconds remaining.
