The safari shows animals related to Hanukkah

The safari in Ramat Gan opens again for the Hanukkah holiday. The public is once again invited to take advantage of the days of the Hanukkah holiday for a calm and peaceful visit to the safari.

One of the legends for the Hanukkah holiday tells that in the Maccabean War the Greek enemies used elephants, just as we use tanks. It is written in the Book of the Maccabees that Eleazar the Hasmonean was killed when he neutralized an elephant (tank) when he stood under it and stuck a bayonet in his stomach, but the elephant knelt to the ground and crushed the Hasmonean commander. In addition, one of the reasons for the outbreak of the Hasmonean rebellion was that the Greeks brought unclean animals into the temple.

In light of this, the safari can be used by parents to teach toddlers and children the heritage of Hanukkah. The audience is invited to the safari to see the elephants and other unclean animals, the heroes of the holiday.

In honor of Hanukkah, they added to the regular visit a guided feeding tour among the animal yards, where some of the food for the animals is designed like Hanukkah motifs, namely a spinning wheel and a Hanukkah.

In addition, there will also be a craft corner for Hanukkah at Safari. The tours and workshops will take place between the hours: 12:00-15:00.

Every day at 3 pm there will be a candle lighting ceremony.

Safari opening hours: 9:00-14:00 and you can stay in the zoo until 16:00.

Safety note: there is no protected space in the safari and in accordance with the directives of the Home Front Command, the number of visitors in the safari is limited.
