Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Egyptian journalist, Ibrahim Issa, sparked interaction among social media users over the past two days after proposing what he described as the “Sadatian solution” as a way out of the crisis taking place in Gaza and the Israeli military operations there in response to the Hamas movement’s attack inside. Israel on October 7th.
Ibrahim Issa said in the program he presents on Al-Qahira wa Al-Nas channel: “You must ask yourself: Is war the way to return Palestine after all the wars we fought and were defeated in? Except of course for the great victory on October 6… All the acts of resistance ended in what we see now… “
He continued, saying: “Do you think that its continuation (resistance actions) will bring a result? .. Ok, we allow ourselves to think about other things, about other scenarios, about ideas that began as if they were strange, strange, abandoned, cursed, in a previous time in the fifties, sixties, and even in the forties, and whoever says them means as if “For anyone regarding the Palestinian issue, let us think about these people who may have a farther and more comprehensive vision, more sensitive to our capabilities, and more aware of our capabilities.”
He added: “The words said by Hussein Fawzi Tawfiq al-Hakim, Naguib Mahfouz, Bourguiba and Lotfi al-Khouli, we cannot review ourselves and look at the fact that the solution that Sadat made is the only solution that befits our abilities and capabilities and our confrontation with the West. This is the big question that we must ask ourselves again.”
