For the second consecutive year the festival Holy music returns to the Var, from 25 November to 20 December. 20 candlelight concerts, in 15 emblematic churches of the Diocese. An event to experience the Advent season in the light of hope and beauty.
Launched in 2021 by the three Brejon brothers, after two years of preparation, the first edition of the festival Holy music aroused genuine popular enthusiasm. The concerts of sacred music, which ranged from classical to gospel via Corsican or Orthodox polyphony, had attracted a large audience. This year, these enchanted evenings return to the Var throughout the month of December. 20 concerts will be held in 10 cities and 15 churches, basilicas and chapels of the Var, starting from Toulon and ending in Saint Raphaël. Illuminated by about 1,500 candles, these local jewels will appear to our eyes in a different light, to rediscover the atmosphere of the original lighting and enter the soft light of Christmas. A great way to allow people who no longer have or no longer have contact with the Church to establish a new connection.

By offering a ticket office at minimal prices and creating a traveling event throughout the Var, Holy music wants to reach as many people as possible and thus make beauty accessible to all.
“Even the programming was deliberately chosen to be varied, so that everyone could enjoy it”, says Clotilde de Mautort, coordinator of the Festival. “When we think of sacred music, we immediately think of opera singing, which does not fascinate everyone. However, we want to demonstrate that there is a great variety”. Concerts of all styles of sacred music are offered again this year, given by French and international choirs. Among them, the public will once again have the opportunity to hear the Lefèvre family, winners of the 2020 season of “France has an incredible talent”, but also Voces8, the little singers of San Marco, etc. Viewers will also discover several new features, such as an original creation Holy musicwith “the Voice Messengers group that revisits classical pieces to adapt them to jazz” and that he will hold two shows during this tour, but also a staging that promises to be surprising.
