In December, the first reports of 65W models of eight- and twelve-core processors from the Ryzen 5000 series appeared. At that time, their clock frequencies were not yet known, so I could only offer my own estimate. In the case of the basic bar Ryzen 9 5900 hit with 3.0 GHz, but underestimated the boost, which is not “around 4.4 GHz”, but significantly higher – 4.7 GHz. So only 100 MHz below the 105W “X” model.
For the eight-core Ryzen 7 5800, the estimate “around 3.5 / 4.5 GHz” fit in total, the reality should be 3.4 / 4.6 GHz. Again, this is a relatively high boost. Compared to the 105W version, the decrease is significantly smaller than in the previous generation.
It is anticipated that both the Ryzen 7 5800 and Ryzen 9 5900 processors will be designed for the OEM segment. On the one hand, this is not a major problem – AMD allows the user to reduce the TDP to 65W even for 105W models (ECO mode). On the other hand, 65W models are usually equipped (in terms of leakage) with selected pieces of silicon, so they would certainly find a customer.

Then a screenshot of CPU-Z taken on a desktop APU appeared Cezanne in an eight-core configuration. The 65W processor, which will be called Ryzen 7 5700G or Ryzen 7 5750G, had a basic clock speed of 3.0 and a boost of 4.45 GHz in the form of a sample of the CPU-Z. They do not have to be definitive values, but they will be very close to them. With these parameters, he achieved performance in the charts below:
graph-1
Desktop version Cezanne in a multi-core load, it surpasses any existing eight-core from Intel, both the Core i7 as 9900K or 10700K, but also the 127W limited edition Core i9-9900KS. The closest (less than a percentage) is from the upcoming Core i7-11700K; in both cases, however, we compare the numbers of a product that has not yet been released, so this may not be a definitive comparison.
