Ukraine announced on Tuesday that about 500 Russian soldiers were killed or wounded in an artillery attack in the Kherson region.
In the attack near the village of Chulakivka, “enemy losses reach 500 killed and wounded,” reports the Ukrainian General Staff.
The attack took place on New Year’s Eve.
The General Staff of Ukraine said that a day later Russian units were attacked in the village of Fedorivka. The number of people killed in this attack is unknown.
Chulakivka and Fedorivka are located on the southeast side of the Dnieper River in the Russian-occupied part of Kherson Oblast.
Kiev said on Monday that a Ukrainian rocket attack on the Russian-occupied Donetsk suburb of Makiivka may have killed hundreds of mobilized people. The mobilized were housed in the vocational school building, which was hit by the Ukrainian HIMARS barrage on New Year’s Eve.
Russia has officially acknowledged the deaths of 63 mobilized people, but Kiev reports that around 400 Russians may have been killed and 300 injured.
Russian bloggers covering military topics also report hundreds of casualties.
