Russian hockey players under the age of 20 scored their first victory at the Junior World Championships in Canada. In their second performance in the “Slovak” B-group, they beat Swiss peers 4: 2 in Red Deere. They laid the foundation for success already in the opening third, which they won 3: 1.
The Czechs also lost their second match in the A-group, when they lost to the Germans 1: 2 after extra time. The triumph of Germany was scored by two goals Alexander Alexander, the winner scored in the second minute of overtime.
