Russia is fed up with cooperation with the US in space? It focuses on a “national” project. [OKO NA ŚWIAT]

The Russians have been trying for some time to argue that the International Space Station is already too old a project to continue to invest in it. They are even considering giving up international cooperation and building their own space station in orbit. Will be cost billions, however, is to be a fully “national” project.

However, this does not prevent the Russian space agency Roskosmos from carrying out previously planned investments. The largest in recent years was the removal and connection in July this year. to the ISS Science module, i.e. the newest currently the Russian research component of the international station.

Another Russian module docked to the ISS

This weekend was the second most important start towards the ISS from Russian soil. The Russians took to Earth orbit and connected the Prichal module (pier) to the station when the ISS was over Ukraine. This time it was without any incidents and the module was connected smoothly on the first try. As stated by the spokesman NASA Rob Navias quoted by Space.comdocking “was as flawless as possible”.

Mooring to the Priczał module station is an element that scientists may have feared. The Science module, which launched from Earth with a 14-year delay, had a big problem with it. Science struggled to stay in orbit for a week before finally reaching the ISS. There were also incidents here, because shortly after docking, the engines were accidentally fired in the module, and the entire International Space Station was turned by about 45 degrees, which was quite dangerous. More on this one topic we wrote in the text below:

The Priczał module brought approx. 1000 kg of cargo to the ISS and is connected to the Science module. Priczał is to play mainly the role of a docking module, because it allows the connection of five spacecraft to the ISS. Therefore, it will significantly increase the capacity of the station, and this is of great importance in the context of tourism flights on the ISS, with which the Russians would like to start soon for good.

In October this year. The professional cosmonaut Anton Szkaplerow arrived at the ISS with two passengers – director Klim Szypienko and actress Julia Peresild. The team spent 12 days at the station, recording photos for a Russian film with the working title “Summon”.
