The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade plans to purchase Lada Aura cars, the production of which Avtovaz should launch in the second half of 2024, for the needs of officials.
“This issue is already in the works – when planning transport services (purchase or rental of cars) for the next year, the responsible departments of the Ministry of Industry and Trade have already been tasked, including taking into account the capabilities of Avtovaz to supply Lada Aura cars,” the ministry noted.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade clarified that the company plans to launch production of Lada Aura in the second half of 2024, writes TASS.
Let us recall that Russian President Vladimir Putin said on August 3 at a meeting with heads of manufacturing enterprises that all officials in the country should drive domestic cars. The head of state emphasized that the use of Russian automobile industry products by civil servants will improve their quality. Therefore, there should be no purchases of foreign cars.
Later, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said that deputies would use Moskvich, Lada, and Aurus cars.
– Production of Volga cars will begin soon. We plan to claim it too. In electoral districts, cars of various brands are rented for deputies. From September we will begin to switch only to domestic “Muscovites”, “Ladas”, later there will be “Volgas”, Volodin added.
