The Russian military has erected more than 2,000 kilometers of defensive lines in the zone of a special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine, said Yury Stavitsky, head of the engineering troops of the Russian Armed Forces.
“Large-scale work is underway to fortify the territories with the use of modern shelters, dugouts and armored caps, which makes it possible to protect personnel. In total, more than two thousand kilometers of defensive lines have been erected to date,” – he said in an interview with the newspaper of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation “Red Star”.
Stavitsky said that military engineers are involved in the NWO – they are engaged in demining territories, fortification equipment, and building crossings over water barriers.
“More than 20 bridges were installed during the construction of crossings by pontoons. At the same time, various installation methods were used, which made it possible to significantly reduce the time for the installation of the bridge as a whole. This is of decisive importance in conditions of direct contact with the enemy, when it is necessary to quickly transfer units through a water barrier, ” Stavitsky said.
According to him, within the framework of the state defense order in 2022, more than 400 samples of modern equipment, more than 50 thousand sets of engineering equipment and engineering ammunition, more than 20 robotic systems (Uran-6 demining and Uran-14 fire fighting) were delivered to the engineering troops. ).
“Multifunctional robotic demining systems” Uran-6 “are used in the course of a special military operation”, Stavitsky said.
