Moscow, Mar 22 (Sputnik) .- The head of the Russian Investigation Committee, Alexandr Bastrikin, denounced in an interview with Sputnik the attempts to review the Nuremberg trials against the main Nazi criminals.

“Unfortunately, we see attempts to present the Great Patriotic War in an entirely different light,” Bastrikin said, referring to the 1941-1945 war conflict between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany.

The official specified that “this happens when the official positions of other countries, ignoring the decisive role of the USSR in the victory over the enemy, try to review the resolutions of the Nuremberg Tribunal.”

“We are also witnessing attempts – first and foremost in the Baltic nations and in Ukraine – to portray as heroes those who committed misdeeds against civilians,” Bastrikin said.

The official assured that these efforts to rehabilitate Nazism “do not go unnoticed by the Investigation Committee.”

“We will do everything in our power so that the tragedies of that war are never repeated and that future generations remember the horrors of the Holocaust, the bravery and heroism of the Leningrad inhabitants during the siege,” he stressed. (Sputnik)
