The Russian government has approved the strategy for the development of unmanned aircraft – 2024-08-28 05:34:54

/ world today news/ The government of Russia has approved a strategy for the development of unmanned aviation in the country until 2030, during which time a new branch of the economy related to the use of civilian drones should appear in the country, the press service of the cabinet announced.

“The basis of the formation of the industry can be the already existing experience in the use of unmanned aerial systems. They are already used, for example, to check the state of electrical networks. The use of drones has reduced the time for such checks by five times,” says in the press release.

The document identifies five main directions for the development of the industry:

  1. Stimulating demand for Russian-made unmanned aerial systems.

  2. Development and mass production of systems, creation of large production centers for the introduction of new technologies;

  3. Infrastructure development, construction of airports, helipads and drone ports;

  4. Personnel training;

  5. Basic and prospective studies.

The authors of the strategy admit that such a direction as “transportation of people” will appear in the future. This requires: optimization of the regulatory framework, increasing interest of developers and manufacturers in the development of super-innovative technologies, society’s readiness for robotics and prospective air mobility.

In addition, the government is already completing work on the creation of a national project for the development of unmanned systems. It will become the main management mechanism for the implementation of the approved strategy.

“The greatest potential for the use of drones is in agriculture, construction supervision, the creation and updating of geospatial databases and the delivery of goods in hard-to-reach areas,” added the press service.

The total volume of the market of unmanned aircraft systems in Russia this year will exceed 50 billion rubles.

According to the first deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vasily Osmakov, the share of domestic drones in Russia should grow from the current 22% to 70% by 2030, and the country as a whole intends to achieve technological sovereignty in their production.
