If Russia’s frozen assets are seized and the situation in Ukraine escalates, there is a risk of severing diplomatic relations with the United States. About this said Interfax: Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov.

He recalled that Russia itself never takes escalation measures of this kind.

The Russian Federation may consider such a measure as an option in response to the freezing of Russian assets. When asked what other steps could lead to this, he said:
