In the three appeals, Shoigu expressed concern about a possible provocation by Ukraine with the use of “dirty bombs”.
The UK Defense Ministry said in a statement that Wallace rejected claims that Western countries were trying to help Ukraine escalate the conflict and warned that such allegations should not be used as a pretext for a wider escalation. .
He added that the call was requested from the Russian side. Shoigu also discussed Ukraine with Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin in their second phone call, but the Russian side did not mention the alleged “dirty bomb” provocation in its statement.
