Ukraine’s counter-offensive north of Kharkiv has forced Russian troops to defend themselves and has stepped up reinforcements to prevent further Ukrainian troops from advancing on Russia’s border. Russian efforts along the southern axis in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions remain similarly stagnant, and Russian forces have not made significant progress in the face of ongoing successful Ukrainian defense.

Russian forces continued to work to encircle Ukrainian positions in the Severodonetsk-Rubizhne-Lisichansk region, but made no confirmed progress.

Russian forces continue to launch ground strikes on Ukrainian positions at the Azovstal steel plant with the support of air and artillery strikes. The Azov Regiment said that in the last 24 hours, Russian forces had inflicted 38 air strikes and 4 strategic bombings on Azovstal.
Adviser to Mariupol Mayor Petro Andryushchenko says Russian authorities are deporting those deemed “suspicious” during the Mariupol filtration measures in detention camp in Olenovka, Donetsk region.
Andryushchenko compared the facility to a concentration camp and said detainees were subjected to overcrowding, brutal conditions, mass interrogations and enforced disappearances.
