The pro-Russian administration of Ukraine’s Kherson region wants to send the children with their parents or senior residents to the Russian-annexed Crimean peninsula or to southern Russia. The RIA Novosti agency wrote it on Saturday. The occupation authorities justify the plan with Ukrainian bombings.
“We are preparing for difficult times, due to the (Ukrainian) bombings. Rostov Oblast, Krasnodar Krai, invites children, parents and the elderly to rest,” said Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the appointed administration. from Cherson Oblast Russia, Kirill Stremousov.
He then wrote on the social network Telegram that convalescent stays await residents of the Kherson region in Crimea. Another representative of the administration of the occupation, Volodymyr Saldo, according to the Ukrainian diary Kyiv Independent has estimated the number of children they will leave behind at 30,000. In connection with this, the newspaper writes about illegal expulsion.
The PA called Stremous’ announcement a partial evacuation and said it was another possible setback for Russian President Vladimir Putin. Kiev forces in the Kherson region launched a counter-offensive at the end of the summer and, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, have cleared hundreds of square kilometers of occupied territory since the beginning of October alone.
