Al-Akhbar (Nouakchott) – The executive office of the ruling Insaf Party began its meeting on settling the lists of its candidates in the legislative, regional and municipal elections, at around 3:30 in the morning, after the arrival of the party’s president, Mohamed Maa El-Ainein Ould Ayeh.
The meeting, which was scheduled for midnight, was delayed by several hours, and the members proceeded to review the nominated names on the party lists.
The party is expected to announce these lists as soon as its executive office ends.
The meeting of the Executive Office comes after the end of a meeting held by a committee comprising a number of senior officials regarding the candidacies, as it is expected that the office will approve the regulations approved by this committee.
The last days witnessed a series of meetings, one of which took place in the presidential palace, and was chaired by President Mohamed Ould Al-Ghazwani, in the presence of members of the party’s executive office.
