The ruling party of Georgia says it will abandon the law “On transparency of foreign influence” or cancel it after the country receives an offer to join the European Union.
As “European Pravda” reports, this was stated by the head of the “Georgian Dream” party, Iraklii Garibashvili, who is quoted as saying “Georgia Online“.
He is convinced that if Georgia approves the application for joining the European Union, then the scandalous law can be “easily” annulled.
“I want to tell you very simply, if by the time the country is ready and we are told that tomorrow you will become a member of the European Union, this law can be canceled, revised, changed and a new one can be passed very easily. So don’t worry, everything is fine.” , – said Garibashvili.
According to him, the adoption of the draft law cannot affect the pace of Georgia’s accession, since the EU is “not ready for expansion.”
As you know, despite disapproval from the West and civil society, Prime Minister of Georgia Iraklii Kobakhidze states that nothing can prevent the ultimate adoption of a scandalous law.
The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, said that veto on the scandalous law, but admitted that it will most likely be overcome by the parliament.
And in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed outrage statement of the prime minister of Georgia regarding the law “on foreign agents” and Ukraine.
