You could hardly have missed it: ever since Final Battle, the new book by Omid Scobie, hit the shelves, things have been restless at the British court. The Dutch version mentions the names that asked questions about the skin color of Harry and Meghan’s (then unborn) child. Spoiler alert: in addition to the king, that also turned out to have been Catherine.
Since Omid Scobie has (had) direct lines with Harry and Meghan, the entire soap opera surrounding the two sisters has flared up in full force. Last night was Catherine’s first appearance since the book launch. I expected her to ignore the situation with her head held high, but nothing could be further from the truth. Her blue dress with cape sleeves is a design by Safiyaa, the label where Meghan can find her showstoppers.

Maybe that sounds like a meaningless detail, but just translate the situation into Dutch. Who says Mabel, says Viktor & Rolf. So far, Máxima has not been spotted in a design by the designer duo. If the sisters-in-law got into a fight and Máxima suddenly started wearing Viktor & Rolf, we would be surprised too.
The question now is of course: what is the signal that Catherine wants to send? Would it be a reach out to Meghan, a stab under water or really pure coincidence? Just say it: what does your gut say?
