The royal financial report was published these days and it revealed what Prince William’s annual salary is.
It turns out that the Prince of Wales is a millionaire, and for this year alone he has already received an income of 6 million pounds on his account. He hails from the Duchy of Cornwall.
The 41-year-old prince inherited the property after the death of his grandmother Elizabeth II last September and is now entitled to a share of its profits each year.
The duchy has generated record profits for the period 2022-2023 – 24 million. A whole million more than the previous year.
Normally, the prince should receive all of the £24m income in his personal account, but as William was granted rights over the dukedom midway through his financial year, he will only take part of the money.
King Charles, as the former Prince of Wales, is entitled to 11 million pounds of the surplus before he ascended the throne, while William, who spent about six months of the last financial year as Duke of Cornwall and Prince of Wales, to 11 million, the palace said Kensington.
They say the county has asked for some of the profits to be kept for them this year to cover various expenses. Thus, 6 million remained for Cornwall, and the remaining 6 million pounds went to Prince William.
In the foreword to the duchy’s financial statements, the prince paid tribute to his father for leaving an “indelible mark” on the duchy and being a passionate champion of innovation and change.
William promised to work hard in his new role, writing: “I am committed to the cause of tackling climate change and am proud of the estate’s efforts to contribute to this challenge.”
“If we can also tackle all the social challenges, such as mental health and homelessness, I will know that my tenure as Duke has been worthwhile.”
