London: Christmas is the biggest celebration for Christians. Everyone tries their best to celebrate the festival with such grandeur that it hangs stars on the houses, beautifies the houses with colored papers and deepalankars all over the world. Many Christmas dishes will fill the dinner table. Even common people are like this.
So what will the British royal family’s Christmas celebration be like? What dishes will be on the royal family’s Christmas special menu? Darren McGrady, the former Chief Chef of the Royal Palace, reveals these things. During his time at the palace, he cooked seven Christmases for the late Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana.
McGrady says the royal family eats a traditional Christmas meal, although the regular royal diet is lavish. The royal family did not approve of wasting food. For Christmas, the royal family chooses foods similar to those eaten by the common people in Britain. Meanwhile, Darren McGrady also reveals a slight difference in the Christmas Day meal at the palace.
At Christmas, the men and women of the royal family had separate meals for breakfast. Men ate a traditional breakfast of eggs, mushrooms and bacon, while women ate fruit and coffee. It was delivered inside their room. After this will go to church. Have lunch after returning.
The same food is served every year for lunch. Turkey and chickens would be prepared for lunch. Turkey was prepared for lunch for the Queen’s family, the children’s nursery, and the palace staff. The turkey was served with mashed potatoes and roasted potatoes. It was served with cranberry sauce, bread sauce and stuffed onions.
Brussels sprouts, carrots and roast parsnips were also served. Coming to the drinks, the classic gin, Dubolat cocktail and German white wine were served. Then they eat a traditional Christmas pudding. Decorated and doused in brandy, the palace steward would carry it to the dining room. A short walk is customary after lunch.
For Christmas Eve dinner, we will be serving a fish course, salad and venison dish from Sandringham Estate. Queen Elizabeth’s favorite dessert was a tarte tatin or chocolate perfection pie. The chef also revealed that chocolate was one of their biggest weaknesses.
