The royal couple wishes us happy holidays with a special Christmas card

Like every year, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima and their three daughters share congratulations via social media with a Christmas card that shows the family radiant. Special about this photo: their three faithful four-legged friends are also on it. The attentive viewer immediately sees that a dog is missing: Labrador Skipper. The RVD says that the Oranges had to say goodbye to the dog in April. Now they only have labradors Nala and Luna.

In addition to the two labradors, we also see Mambo, which was purchased especially for Máxima this year to counteract the empty nest syndrome a little bit.

The photo was taken before the start of the AVROTROS music gala that was organized on the occasion of Queen Máxima’s fiftieth birthday. “A Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous 2022,” the family wrote. The Christmas greeting is also shared in English, Spanish, Frisian and Papiamento.

It was a special year for Amalia. At the beginning of this month, the princess turned eighteen. Of course, everything changes with every teenager at that age, but for Amalia a lot changes constitutionally as well. And just like with Princess Beatrix and King Willem-Alexander, we will now see her in public more often.
