The rotary engine is synonymous with Mazda’s internal combustion engine. In the past, many of Mazda’s popular models were equipped with a rotary engine, but due to the structure of the engine, heat loss was large and fuel efficiency was limited. It was out of production. This time, the revival of such a rotary engine is attracting attention due to the appearance of the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model “MAZDA MX-30 e-SKYACTIV R-EV” that uses the rotary engine as a generator. The car was unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show in Belgium from January 14th.
