lawsuit Freddy Widjaja son of the late founder of the Sinarmas Group, Eka Tjipta Widjaja, ran aground in the South Jakarta District Court. The lawsuit was filed by him on Eka Tjipta’s will regarding the distribution of inheritance which he said was unfair.
In notes detik.com, Freddy once admitted that he had actually received an inheritance. However, according to him, what was obtained was not in accordance with applicable law.
“It was reported by my stepbrothers that I had received my right of inheritance, but it has not been explained in detail how much I actually received. I will explain this so that I don’t get confused, I received the right will,” said Freddy when registering his lawsuit at the District Court South Jakarta, last Wednesday (12/8/2020).
He explained that he, as Eka Tjipta’s son, from a marriage that was not officially registered, only received Rp. 1 billion. Meanwhile, his other brothers received Rp. 2 billion.
“The amount is only IDR 1 billion, some of my brothers got IDR 2 billion, my beloved brother above, who is richer than me. I and 13 other people received IDR 1 billion,” he explained.
Eka Tjipta himself was only officially recorded as having 15 children from 2 marriages. Meanwhile, Freddy Widjaja is the son of one of Eka Tjipta’s marriages which is not officially registered.
Freddy explained that his own desire was to get the inheritance distribution according to the applicable civil law. Of the total assets, according to him, children from legal marriages get 2/3 of their assets, while 1/3 of the 2/3 assets belongs to him and his brother, who is Eka Tjipta’s son from an illegitimate marriage.
“That is a legitimate portie, 2/3 of the property is for children legally married, 1/3 of half 2/3 of it belongs to our children in an illegal marriage. I ask for my rights according to the law, according to the law, it is as much as legitimate portie according to the civil law, “said Freddy.
