Nathaniel was with his father pick up a brand new one electric car Tesla Model Y. On the way back home, they began to hear an extremely loud sound of air flowing on the highway.
After a while, they were not surprised: all the roof peeled off and flew away. “After a short panic, we turned around and drove the new Tesla back to the dealer,” Nathaniel describes the unpleasant experience.
Hey @elonmusk why didn’t you tell us that Tesla sells convertibles now? Because the roof of our brand new model Y fell off on the highway pic.twitter.com/s8YNnu7m9L

For the Model Y, the roof is one a single giant piece of glass. It seems that they forgot to glue it in production, or they glued it insufficiently, and the quality control somehow neglected this.
In the case of Tesla electric cars, and especially in the new Model Y, this is the first case of a “flying roof”. But far from it this is not the first case of poor quality work.
New owners of electric cars report numerous problems with, for example, loose seats or belts. However, the head of the Volkswagen considers the Model Y to be a model car.
