After 15 years, the Rolls-Royce Ghost has received a major update. The new vehicle, called Ghost Series II, follows the example of the Cullinan, which received an update of the “Series II” in early 2024. Although the Ghost was not the first to receive the Series II update, it has pioneered many of Rolls-Royce’s current mainstays. And the new update also promises a good amount of new features.
Both the Ghost and its Black Badge variant have undergone modifications styling, have received a boost to the infotainment system and now offer additional interior options. Customers considering a new Ghost can now enjoy the most comfortable, useful and possibly stylish version of what has become one of Rolls-Royce’s best-loved vehicles.
The basic Ghost has significant improvements
The Ghost Series II’s new illuminated Pantheon grille is probably the first feature that catches your eye. The headlight graphics have been updated and a new Spectre-inspired taillight configuration is now part of the design. The vehicle’s suspension has also been refined, offering an even smoother ride. However, most of the update focuses on the interior of the vehicle. A new choreographed interior lighting sequence welcomes you when the vehicle starts. “Duality Twill,” an embroidered bamboo fabric, has been added to the list of upholstery options, and “Grey-Stained Ash” appears as a new wood option. “Serenity reclining seats” and 6.69 inches of additional rear legroom are available if you opt for the “Ghost Extended Series II.”
The infotainment system has received a major update, now displayed on a central screen housed in a new pillar-to-pillar glass panel. Everything runs through the SPIRIT operating system, which interacts seamlessly with the Whispers private member app. The Ghost Series II promises “enhanced connectivity and streaming capabilities,” with audio output through a custom speaker system.
The Black Badge variant introduces its own improvements
The Ghost Black Badge edition has always been a step above the standard Ghost, offering more power, better handling, black accents, and some added luxury touches. So it’s no surprise that the Ghost Series II Black Badge takes things to the next level. The Black Badge variant benefits from all the tweaks seen on the “Silver Badge” model and introduces some exclusive improvements of its own.
In terms of aesthetics, the lower grille, bumper and taillights have been refined. Darkened chrome elements, a hallmark of the Black Badge finish, are present throughout the vehicle. The dark theme extends to the interior, with technical carbon finishes and darkened metals used throughout. The vehicle sits on a set of unique 22-inch seven-spoke forged wheels.
