The Spirit of Innovation uses “the most powerful drive battery”
Just two months after its first flight, Rolls-Royce’s “Spirit of Innovation” reached a top speed of 623.46 km / h. Thus, the aircraft broke the record for the fastest all-electric aircraft to date.

The achievement is not yet certified. This is expected to happen soon.
To certify it, Rolls-Royce sent the data to the International Aviation Federation (FAI), the body responsible for world aviation records. If confirmed, this top speed will be something really impressive.
Rolls-Royce says The Spirit of Innovation uses “the most powerful propulsion battery ever assembled in space.”
Experts point out that electric planes are not practical for long flights, as currently available batteries are 50 times less energy than jet fuel. However, they seem promising for short trips.
