And one daily serving of green vegetables reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease, coronary disease and stroke by almost 20%, the expert emphasized.
In addition, omega-3 fatty acids found in nuts, especially walnuts, help reduce inflammation in the body, which also has a positive effect on the cardiovascular system.
Nuts can be consumed both in pure form and added to various dishes, such as salads. However, foods with added salt or oil should be avoided, as they may contain additional calories and sodium.
